32 weeks...

So I obviously completely skipped over week 31...oops!  So this entry is a bit longer than the others (sorry!)  The holidays have me dizzy.  We had such a wonderful Christmas, but I am excited to get some sort of normal weekend in.

We received an early Christmas present from Pittsburgh; our baby monitor!  We tested it out, and absolutely love it.  We can move the cameras from the receiver in our room, talk through the receiver and even play music.  I'm sure we will get plenty of miles out of this gift.  Thank you Waags!

Uncle Mike made it home in time for Christmas!!  This was the first in 5 years, and the first one I've ever had in HIS house...and in TX nonetheless. :)  It was so great to spend time with Molly, Ri, Bubba & the rest of our family.  We ate some delicious food off the grill and sweets of course, and did a lot of much needed relaxing.

Mimi & Pops had everyone over to their house for a pre-Christmas dinner on Sat.  Jack has his own little stocking there :) This was the first time my brother, grandmother and most of my family has seen my super pregnant belly.  Uncle Mike was actually on a Navy ship when we told him the exciting news, so this was a bit of a surprise to go from wedding to preggo belly.  We had to leave Christmas before dinner was done due to the SNOW.  I couldn't believe it.  They said they got about 5 inches when it was all done with.  Auntie Molly sent us home with plenty of food...which we were eating with our fingers before we made it home :)

Little Jack cleaned up at Christmas.  He got a mini golf set (Dad is completely giddy to open it), and his Auntie Molly made him a quilt, a steelers blanket with matching bib, and a mustache blanket (with matching bib).  Dad also bought him a camo onsie.  So adorable!

We had our checkup the day after Christmas.  Again, NOT fair to get on the scale after a holiday chow down.  Our doctor was in Italy for the holidays, so we had a new Dr.  She asked us if big babies ran in our family...YIKES!  This is the second time we've been asked this because little Jack apparently is measuring ahead of what his due date is.  We might have a Valentines baby ladies & gents!

Jack has already flipped and is head down, ready to meet the world.  Slow down buddy!  He has been kicking up a storm still and I think we feel his little bum on my belly.  :)  We still haven't seen a foot print, but we are cheering for it.  I'm getting bigger by the day and my back is telling me so.  Blood pressure and all that jazz is still good though, and the swelling is really only after holiday dinners filled with salts LOL.  Heartburn has set in, but hopefully that is just leftover from the holidays as well...fingers crossed.

The rest of Jack's bedding finally arrived (3 months later).  Leave it to me to get everything that ends up on backorder :)  I am very happy with how it all came out though!  Can't wait for our chair to arrive....hopefully next week we have a picture for you.

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!  I'll try not to forget week 33 :)

30 Weeks!

We aren't really sure where the time is going, but it is speeding by.  We didn't take our picture until 30 weeks & 5 days.  It's been a busy week with work and Christmas parties.

We had our 30 week checkup on Wed and everything looks great!  His heartbeat is in the 140's still and he is measuring up as expected.  She said he's likely a little over 3lbs.  I can't believe we still have 3 or 4 to go in just 2 months!  We also met with "GetBabied!" this past week and decided we would hire our doula through them.  They have such a sweet group of ladies!  I already feel better about the experience knowing we will have another person in our corner helping us have a fully natural birth.

it doesn't seem possible that Christmas is just around the corner!!  Little Jack has loved all the yummy Christmas foods over the past few weeks.  It has been so hard to be good, but we are still going to the gym.  We have been getting some big movements out of him.  You can actually see him rolling over now and keep feeling what might be a foot or elbow poking out.  Every night Jon gives him the highlights of what happened that day and what is to come the next.  Jack always responds to Jon's voice and puts on a show for us.  This past weekend our "belly buds" came in.  These are headphones that stick on your belly (and have a safe volume) so Jack has his own little headphones now and can get caught up on some great music.  He seems to like it :)

We got a call from Uncle Mike this morning and his has finally made it safely to the USA!!!!  We can't wait to go have Christmas with him and the family.  This will be the first Christmas he will be home in about 5 years.  Now we also have Molly & Ri bug in Texas...double bonus!!  I'm not looking forward to the drive, but we are looking forward to seeing everyone.  I'm sure  I'll know every restroom from here to Dallas before the visit is over.

29 weeks!

Our crib arrived!!!  I was so happy to finally get a piece of the furniture we ordered.  We have the crib, side table and the topper for the dresser so far.  The chair should be here late Dec and the dresser will likely not be here until early Feb.

The 2nd trimester honeymoon is over & the 3rd trimester aches have definitely set in.  He is growing and my ribs can feel it!  His movements are so much stronger now too.  I think 3am is going to be his feeding time, because he always seems to wake me up at that time.  Then he's up and moving again around 5.  He is just trying to prep me :)

We had our 3D ultrasound this past weekend.  What an experience!  That is the coolest thing.  His eyes were opening and he was playing with the umbilical cord.  He kept trying to put the umbilical cord in his mouth, and then would smile about it...clearly already Jon's son being a joker.  I love his sweet little smile!  Now I'm even more anxious to meet him.

Look at that little grin :)

He loves to play with the umbilical cord

Can't wait to see these little footsies!
